Game of the Month: Simple Planes

Hey, everyone. I hope you all have been having a great week. Today, I’ll be introducing a new segment. Basically, every month I’ll be writing about a different game. I plan on adding variations of this like Worst Game of the Month or something, but this will be the main thing.

Simple Planes is a game made by Jundroo. It’s their followup game to Simple Rockets which I’ve spent countless hours on. The game is pretty much what it sounds like. It’s a sandbox open world where you basically build and fly planes. It also has races and dog fights you can take part in. The best part is that you don’t have to be a master plane builder to figure out this game. The game has a pretty nifty tutorial too if you cant seem to figure it out too. If you’re just looking to fly, you can go to the Simple Planes website and download planes made by the community. The game is $12 on Steam and $5 on Android/iPhone. The mobile version is missing out on an island you can explore plus the krakken. But those areas cause drops in frame rate and should only be played on a system with more power.

The reason I’m giving this game game of the month is because I spent most of my time playing it while I was in El Centro, California. Without it I would have been bored out of my mind. Not only that, but I love the games that Jundroo makes. They have some ties to science and they’re always so satisfying when you make something that just works. So, if you’re looking to kill some time, check out their games. They’re worth every penny.
